--- Appearance, Specification and Compatibility

Appearance

At 869g, the Blue Orb II is one of the heavier coolers we looked at. With a 120mm fan, centrally mounted on 140 extruded aluminium fins, it's not small, either.

However, the Blue Orb's unusual design – with a frameless 120mm fan at its heart - results in a lower profile than other coolers in this review and was actually quite pleasing to work with. Dimensions are 66(h) x 140(w) x 140(d)mm. Oh, and the Blue Orb II has blue LEDs inside the fan spindle itself.

The Blue Orb II is one substantial-feeling cooler. The fins are easily the thickest here and its patented Radian Crotched Fin technology is apparently what makes the design special. As we understand it, this technology involves taking a single fin and splitting it multiple times so that it becomes thinner the further from the cooler's core that you go.

The core itself is pure copper core – currently the favoured material for cores, it would seem.
