Hollywood-style production values

Cut-scenes too are equally as dramatic and fun to watch, even though the Americanised, clichéd dialogue and script are nothing short of average. Nonetheless, it still managed to entertain me in a Call of Duty-type way, and though I'll probably forget what happened over the next couple of weeks I was never tempted to skip a cut-scene, such are the high production values. However, I did notice some audio synching problems later on in the game – where characters didn't open their mouths in time to the dialogue- and there were a few issues with slowdown during more intense battles. However, the campaign took me 8 hours to complete and these gltiches only made up a tiny portion of the game.

Away from the campaign, it’s good to see the addition of co-op, but disappointingly it can only be played offline. However, there is a fully-fledged multiplayer mode, which features some vast improvements over the last game, including a more accessible class-based system, loads more game modes and the addition of mechs, jet-packs and violent melee kills.

Part of Killzone’s 3 appeal is undoubtedly the cinematic-style, explosive action and big budget visuals. But there’s a lot more to it than first meets the eye. Level design, though linear, is fantastic and weapon handling is silky smooth. The way that Guerilla has kept the levels feeling fresh by rotating different gameplay styles is impressive, while the challenging enemy A.I. plays an equally significant part in making it such a memorable, action-packed and enjoyable experience. In almost every aspect Killzone 3 doesn't disappoint.

Really looking forward to this. More the single player than the multiplayer though.
How long is SP?

How long is SP?

I played it through on the normal difficulty setting and it took me around 7+ hours. However, I did get stuck on the MAWLR boss battle for quite a while.

I'm now playing it through on the next level up, so I guess it will take a little longer.
I haven't played an FPS on a console for a long time. I grabbed the demo of this. It looks like a good game, but I found the controls vastly inferior compared to WASD + mouse. So I won't be buying it.

Batman Arkham Asylum, however, had brilliant controls. Third person is much more forgiving on the console than first person.
