Further improvements still needed

If you're playing Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 on the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, you may have noticed an update is now available. This free download has been issued to address online lag as well as slowdown that affects the game in both online and offline modes on both consoles.

The PlayStation 3 update also fixes problems associated with downloading the game to the console’s hard drive.

PES 2008 has been under close scrutiny from both fans of the series and media alike. Suffering from various glitches, it hasn't provided the smooth gameplay mechanics we have come to expect from the series. Indeed, the initial reaction to these updates aren't what Konami would have hoped. In various forums, gamers are reporting continued lag and slowdown.

Though Konami claim they are "still working on improvements", they'll be regretting not adding a final few layers of polish to their title as many fans have already decided to get their kicks in rival's FIFA 08 instead.

I'm done with Pro Evo. I really think Konami have lost the plot. To release a game where the average persons ping jumps from 30 to 5000 constantly is unforgiveable. Fifa rules the roost this year, most people I know who were Pro Evo addicts are turning to Fifa now.

Evo has been going backwards since Evo 4. Heres to SWOS on Live ;)
At last, it has taken far too long to fix! It really wasn't acceptable releasing a game with this many bugs. Almost gave up and when back to Fifa, but glad i didn't!
im annoyed wiv the bugs in pro evo and angry that konami felt they could release a game without it being 100%, but its still better than fifa 08
Its so sad to see the “release first, patch later” mentality hitting console games :(

QFT. I actually went out and bought PES4 in frustration. Best game I've bought in ages!
