The PlayStation 3 exclusive action/adventure game, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is all set for brand new online competitive and cooperative multiplayer modes, a first for the franchise.

The game will feature up to 10 players in 5-versus-5 competitive gameplay and cooperative multiplayer mode, which will allow up-to-3 players to progress through a variety of environments by working together to accomplish set objectives. Using a party system, groups of players will remain together in ranked and custom matches while earning currency, which used in combination with currency earned in single player missions, will unlock additional content and upgrades.

Among the multiplayer game modes on offer, players will battle in ranked matches that include Team Death Match and Capture the Treasure, multiplayer competition that encourages team work to transport a treasure over dynamic terrain such as ledges and obstacles. With maps based on environments from the single player campaign, players are taken from the night time streets of a war torn city to a Nepalese village and have the ability to create custom games allowing them to play any type of game on any map.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is the story of Nathan Drake, a fortune-hunter with a shady reputation and an even shadier past who is lured back into the treacherous world of thieves and mercenary treasure-seekers. The tenth game by premier PS3 system developer Naughty Dog, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves allows players to take control of Drake and embark on a journey that will push him to his physical, emotional and intellectual limits to discover the real truth behind the lost fleet of Marco Polo and the legendary Himalayan
