New assault vehicle and battlefield

Sony has confirmed that the second batch of new content for its multiplayer combat game, Warhawk is now available to download on the Playstation 3, via the Playstation Network.

Entitled Operation: Broken Mirror, the new content features a new and larger battlefield, called 'Vaporfield', a snowy and intricate network of freeways and towns that includes ten map configurations and blizzard weather affects.

Also thrown into the mix is a new ground assault vehicle called the Armored Personnel Carrier, or APC. This massive vehicle is designed for rapid infiltrations with a driver and up to six other passengers, each of whom can open a hatch and fire any weapon on-hand. Additionally, once the APC finds its destination on the map, it acts as a forward spawn point for swarms of reinforcements.

With the power to speed boost through enemy lines and the driver-activated E-POD (Electrostatic Plasma Ordinance Disrupter) that emits a burst of energy that absorbs enemy projectiles – acting as a temporary shield for you troops – the APC has been added to enhance team strategy in Warhawk.

On its release Warhawk's white-knuckle aerial combat received critical acclaim, gaining an average of 86% on the review site, Metacritic.
