UK mobile operators are today following up on Apple's unveiling of the iPhone 4 by announcing that the device will be made available to British buyers on June 24.

The launch confirmation reveals that unlike Apple's iPad, the fourth-generation iPhone will be made available simultaneously in multiple regions across the globe.

O2, Apple's longest-standing iPhone partner, has already announced that in addition to launching the iPhone 4 on June 24, it will also offer existing in-contract O2 customers "a limited time special upgrade offer".

Details regarding the offers are expected to be announced in the coming days, and consumers can pre-register their interest at o2.co.uk/iphonelatest.

Following suit, rival operators Orange and Vodafone have also confirmed their intentions to launch the iPhone 4 on June 24, but no UK provider has yet divulged information regarding handset pricing and tariffs.

US pricing, meanwhile, has been confirmed at $199 for a 16GB iPhone 4 and $299 for a range-topping 32GB model.

Contract.

Either that, or it's 70% off, compared to the UK…
Anyone know if we are going to be able to get them on PAYG from the 24th?

I have a 3GS on PAYG and I'm planning on selling that to upgrade.

i doubt it for two reasons, one is i'm sure there was a delay the last time of a few months, as they only make so many and they have enough demand for contract phones to fill first, and then when they catch up on demand they sell the PAYG and sim free/unlocked. second reasons is that apple have a ****ing party and make a big deal out of everything, so if it was going to be available sim free/PAYG you would probably have heard about it by now. it wouldn't be a simple case of “we are doing PAYG” it would be a story involving starbucks and ipads and puppy dog tales and suicidal chinese workers making cheap phones for kids to use whilst happy slapping, with a backing video directed by james cameron
Only 3 networks? I bet Apple thinks that is fearsome competition.
