The RedLine Series RL05 serves as a timely reminder that mid-tower chassis needn't break the bank. Available for under £50, this is an inexpensive proposition and one that covers most bases for a high-performance and up-to-date build.

Demonstrating a good understanding of mainstream requirements, SilverStone includes numerous value adds that you wouldn't necessarily expect at this price point. These include front-facing USB Type-C, an available 5.25in optical bay, integrated dust filters, decent cable management, a separate PSU compartment and, as is now the case on most modern enclosures, a large side window that's ideal for showing off your rig.

The internal layout mirrors what's available from pricier competitors, meaning plenty of room for powerful components, and if the default fan arrangement isn't tickling your fancy, there's room for at least one good-sized radiator. The reviewed red-and-black colour scheme won't be to everyone's tastes, but if you're in the market for a good value chassis that gets most of the basics right, the SilverStone Redline Series RL05 is worth a shot.
