Performance

SilverStone has opted for positive air pressure with the RL05's dual 140mm intakes and the configuration may help keep dust build-up to a minimum. Pulling-in an ample supply of clean air, the case doesn't have a problem taming our overclocked Core i5-3570K processor.

The dual GTX 970 graphics cards, as always, present more of a challenge. The RL05 isn't the first case to struggle to keep below the 80ºC thermal target, resulting in slight GPU throttling after prolonged periods of gaming.

Noise levels are mixed. The default three-pin fans (model APA1425M12) aren't the quietest, hence the chassis can be heard humming when idle, and with no significant sound-dampening to speak of, things can get noisy when gaming at full tilt.
