The Area-51 7500 is coming and we've got pictures and specs for you right now!

You've seen the performance figures on Conroe, so it was only a matter of time before Alienware came forth with a system based on Core 2 Extreme Edition, and they certainly haven't wasted any time.

At the heart of the Area-51 7500 is the 2.93GHz Core 2 Extreme Edition. That's backed up by a motherboard supporting NVIDIA's SLI technology, be that a pair of 7900 GTXs or maybe a 7950 GX2.

Alienware say that up to 1.5TB of storage is available. We'll take a stab in the dark and say that'll probably feature a pair of 750GB disks, but there are other ways of coming to that number, of course.

Ageia's PhysX PPU makes an appearance too, so physics processing gets a boost in games that support it.

7500 colours

The chassis is available in several colours. The colour of the case lighting can also be changed at will. According to Alienware, this is to suit the user's mood, but we reckon users will just show off with it. The I/O panel at the rear of the case is lit too, to make it easier to find where to plug in that USB device.

We'll have more on the Area-51 7500 as we get it. Meanwhile, we'll let you decide whether you like its curves.

Case looks nice :)
Hmmmm, dont know about the new case - i guess its different…
Ye I know what you mean, I personally wouldn't get one. I prefer my case to be subtle, let my hardware do the talking if you know what i mean :)
ive never been overly fond of the alienware cases, they always seem abit tacky for me. Too much plastic too :\
Nicest Dell ever :p

I know they're costly, but having seen an alienware system in the flesh I have to say I was impressed - very well put together and performed pretty well above expectations. Huge noisy beasts though.
