Rivet Networks has launched its Killer E2600 Gigabit Ethernet Controller at Computex. Alongside this new hardware the firm has released new and improved Killer Intelligence Engine monitoring, analysis and optimisation software.
The new Killer E2600 Gigabit Ethernet Controller builds on the capabilities of the Killer E2500, launched just this January at CES, and makes use of patented Killer technologies like Advanced Stream Detect 2.0, GameFast Technology, as well as a new and improved Killer Intelligence Engine to deliver "low latency gaming, smooth HD streaming video, and interrupt-free voice and video chats".
To recap on these technologies, Advanced Stream Detect 2.0 detects thousands of games, applications, and websites, and then leverages Killer's Lag and Latency Reduction Technology to prioritize the most important networking traffic. Meanwhile, GameFast protects gamers from applications and processes that unnecessarily consume CPU and memory resources that should be devoted to keeping games playing fast and smooth. GameFast frees up as much as 10 per cent more CPU time and 20 per cent more memory for your gaming activities.
The new and improved Killer Intelligence Engine "automatically analyzes the network is able to address most issues automatically or by having the user fix the issue with a single click," and should keep your network running in tip-top performance. "We understand that there are many things that contribute to poor network performance and users are frustrated with the current set of tools available to try and fix network issues," said Rivet Networks' CEO Michael Cubbage. "The Killer Intelligence Engine takes the guess work out of networking by either automatically fixing the issue or providing the user with a simple recommendation on how to improve their online experience".
