With around 400,000 registered players, the Electronic Sports League (ESL) is by far the largest online league for computer players in Europe, where over 10,000 matches per day are played. In addition to numerous online tournaments, 11 events will be held throughout Germany in 2004 as part of the ESL Pro Series, during which only Shuttle XPCs will be used. The ESL Nations Cup (ECN) is the European Championships for national teams. e-sportsmen and women from 24 countries compete against one another once a year to establish the European champion after the qualification round. In the WarCraft 3 League (WC3L), the 12 best e-sport teams meet and battle it out for the crown in the War Craft 3 strategy game in real time. Once again, only Shuttle XPCs will be used at the final event in Cologne. All three leagues are managed by Turtle Entertainment.
