Motorola is all set to bring NFC (Near Field Communication) to its business gadgets, according to a report by eWeek Europe.  The company is expected to unveil its strategy; including details of its NFC-enabled gadgets, at a big launch event next week in Paris.

Speaking to eWeek Europe, Andy McBain, Motorola's senior mobile computing and RFID product manager, said the company is "working to introduce a development to support contactless adoption."

McBain also pointed out that the NFC development is in line with Motorola's other projects in RFID technology, such as its work with Dunlop Tires and Datalinx Computer Systems to embed RFID chips into British Touring Car tires to ensure they meet standard specifications.

According to a recent press release, Motorola Solutions' investment priorities for 2011 focus on technologies that support the company's public safety and enterprise mobility businesses, such as mobile computing, cloud computing, video and video analytics, retail experiences and analytics, RFID-enabled solutions and security.

Motorola Solutions Venture Capital recently invested in ViVOtech Inc, the NFC software and systems company. ViVOtech enables enriched mobile commerce solutions for in-store payment, loyalty, marketing and merchandising.

Talking to TechRadar, Motorola earlier said that it will add NFC to its smartphones only when it believes the market is ready.
