Entry-level social skills

Struggling US handset maker Motorola has openly allied its future prosperity to Google's Android operating system. The latest addition to the collection is called Devour, and it appears to be a lightweight addition to the family.

The Devour has a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a 3.1 inch capacitive touch screen. It comes with Motoblur - Motorola's own social media content delivery service that aggregates a bunch of services like Gmail, Facebook and Twitter, ensuring the spellbound world need never lose track of what you're thinking or what you're up to.

It only runs on Android 1.6, so we figure it will be a cheaper, more entry-level smartphone, targeting younger consumers. Standalone handset prices were not forthcoming, nor was any news about a UK release. In fact Motorola didn't even seem too happy about us asking, offering only this statement:

"DEVOUR will only be available in North America exclusively from Verizon Wireless.

"We work with a variety of carriers and partners around the globe to bring various consumer experiences to the market. As we've previously said, in 2010 we are looking to bring a variety of Android phones to the market that deliver unique consumer experiences. As soon as we have more information to share on products for the UK, we will be sure to let you know."

Well excuse us!

Looks like a good entry level phone but not sure Motorola really have any place in that market any more. People are too sceptical about them now.
why when phones are made specifically for the US market, or face lifted for the US market do they look horrendous?
I thought it looked alright… ¬_¬
