This party's over before it gets started
This is the first game we've played with PlayStation Move and it shows off the tech very impressively. After calibrating the controller by pointing the white orb directly at the lens of the PlayStation Eye you’re ready to play. Whatever you do with the controller in your hand translates identically on screen and the sense of accuracy of movement is quite incredible when compared to other party games we've played on Wii.It’s also a real novelty seeing yourself on screen and it's admittedly cool watching your controller transform from the likes of a mallet to a magnifying glass right in front of your eyes. Kids are going to love it, certainly for a few hours anyway, and adults will probably get a kick out of showing off to their friends about their new Move toy. In reality though, the novelty wears off pretty quickly. There just isn't enough variety to make Start The Party a game that you'll want to keep coming back to. These are very short mini-games and there's only nine of them so you'll soon plough the lot in a relatively short period of times - it gets very repetitive swatting bugs for the tenth time.
If you buy Start The Party they'll probably be times when you'll get a buzz out of showing a friend or family member who hasn't played Move how cool it is, but it's one of those games that will soon be forgotten when more Move games arrive. We've had fun playing it, for sure, but this party's really over before it even gets started. Nevertheless, no complaints about Move here. The controller performs impressively, boding well for future Move compatible games.
