Project RedLime in the works

If you were a fan of The Darkness or The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay you may be excited to know that the developer behind these hit titles, Starbreeze Studios has teamed up with EA and is developing a game codenamed Project RedLime for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
Starbreeze Studios has said that the partnership with EA will allow them to focus their energy on what they do best, so we can hazard a guess that the new project will probably be an action game and more than likely be a shooter of some sort.

After a bit of snooping around the net a few fingers are pointing toward the strategy squad-based shooter, Syndicate as being the title in question. This seems to make sense. Syndicate was expected to be brought back from the dead and released on Xbox, PS2 and PC in and indeed it was revealed that Bullfrog studios were working on a new Syndicate title for release in 2005. It didn't happen though and Peter Molyneux's studio was bought out.

Though EA has owned the license to the Syndicate franchise for some time, they've done nothing with it since they bought Bullfrog. The title a cult following back in the day and with the help of Starbreeze Studios could they could successfully reinvent the franchise.

The action role-playing game, System Shock has also been mentioned as a possible title. Only time will tell, we'll be keeping our ears glued to the walls for this one.

I'm still amazed that the original syndicate is as good as it was, the quality of the whole game is genius and took some hard work to win on the hardest levels. Lets hope they focus on gameplay than graphics.

TiG
dungeon keeper!
Syndicate was definitly one of my fave Amiga games by far! instant classic, just with i knew how to work an overly complex Amiga emulator so i could play it . . and play Hostages :D
Even more suggestions for XBLA here.
Syndicate and Dungeon Keeper would make good ones.

Syndicate Wars wasn't as good though. I'm currently playing The Darkness and it's a great game (as was TCOR:EFBB). So, I hope Starbreeze work their magic and make a quality game.
Syndicate.. fond memories of setting entire crowds of people on fire.

The screaming. Oh the beautiful screaming..
