PS3 to lose out on on online multiplayer mode
It will be one hell of a scoop for Microsoft if comments made by the company’s Entertainment boss Don Mattrick are to be taken literally.During a Microsoft community podcast held between Mattrick and Xbox live’s Major Nelson, Mattrick made the following comment:
"[GTA IV] is an amazing piece of software and I'm really excited with its downloadable content and online multiplayer support. Again, that's something that's unique to 360."
"We think consumers are going to love that and it's going to create, what I would describe again as the premium experience on our platform."
His comments do seem to suggest that multiplayer will be exclusive to Xbox 360, but if that is correct then why haven’t Microsoft been shouting from the rooftops and why announce it in this podcast and not the likes of GDC in San Francisco later this month or via an official press release?
I’d still take this with a pinch of salt until we see it in writing.
