We all knew it was coming, but finally we get to hear the official news today that Sony is working on a second iteration of its cute platformer, LittleBig Planet.

In LittleBig Planet 2 you can expect customisation options to be taken to a whole new level, where the only restraints placed on level creation will be your own creativity.

Not only that, but you'lll also be able to create games spanning across different genres! It sounds very ambitious. US Magazine, Game Informer spilled the beans revealing that customisation will be ridiculously in-depth, including the option to assign various sound effects.

"The level of customisation even extends to elements such as the HUD or the controls. Every element of the design has dedicated editing options. For example, ‘direct control seats’ allow users to assign custom controls for in-game vehicles of characters. Rudimentary AI routines are also programmable, so certain behaviour – such as an aversion to heights – can be instilled in the on-screen populous," reads the report.

It sounds like LittleBig Planet is going to be breaking into new ground. We should hear and see more at E3 next month.
