In terms of units sold, Sony has revealed that the PlayStation 3 has surpassed the 3 million mark in the UK.

The last sales figures we have for the console date back to July 2009 when Sony claimed that 2.2 units had been shifted, so that's 800K plus consoles sold since that date. which nudges the worldwide figure to over 27 million units worldwide since the console launched in 2006.

Sony's main rival Microsoft claims to have sold 39 million Xbox 360s. As for Nintendo, well we haven't got an exact figure but suffice to say that they've sold tens of millions more Wii units than either of the other two console manufacturers.

With the release of PS3 exclusive games such as Heavy Rain and Final Fantasy XIII this year, plus the launch of the new motion controller in the Autumn, Sony will be hoping to bridge that spur on the sale of its console throughout 2010.

yeah i got one just before Christmas - so that mean they have sold 100 now then?
I should think the upcoming release of God of War 3 would help. I'll certianly be buying one for that game.
Don't the Sony figures NOT include Q4 2009 so they're actually higher than stated? Microsofts figures DO include this period so the gap should be smaller by now.

How many units did the 360 sell before the PS3 was released? There can't be much of a realistic difference anymore.
And how many people have more than one 360 due to being banned from XBL or RROD?

Also Gran Turismo 5 if it ever comes out.
PS3 is a better console than the 360. I dont understand why some people still go for the 360 - Lower price? HALO? Anything else?
