Epic’s Mark Rein says it’s so!

In a post on the Unreal Tournament 3 Forums Epic’s Mark Rein has confirmed that the PS3 version will have keyboard and mouse support.

He also stated that there’ll be an option to filter out ‘mixed controller’ online games, so gamepad players won’t be forced to go up against keyboard and mouse players.

Some websites are, amusingly, confirming that the PC version will also have keyboard and mouse support... phew, I was worrying over that one, I mean, come on, what else would they have? Brain implants?

Anyways, there’s no news of keyboard support for the Xbox 360 version though but it’s interesting to see that Epic have recognised the need for decent controllers in a first person shooter and further, by giving the filtering option, they’re underlining my assertion that a keyboard/mouse combo gives you a significant advantage over a gamepad player.

But that would make it unfair for the other non-mouse playing PS3ers surely?! Maybe it would be a custom game selection tick box?

Seems a bit of a strange thign to do.

 err strange? its a great thing to do - developers listening to what the players want is a great thing imo, and anyway as has been said….

I get what you mean, choice is great and the fact they put in the option to avoid players on the other controller system. That means its all cushty in opinion. I was just concerned having not followed development that they would leave Six-Axis players getting whooped.
Comon guys, this is 4 days old now :P
