Bluetrek, the company that makes headsets for O2 and Orange, is bringing the world’s first water resistant Bluetooth earpiece to the UK very soon. The X2 is the first Bluetooth headset that is water resistant enough to even let you make a call from the shower, should that kind of thing light your fire…

The Bluetrek X2 is said to meet the IP54 standard for water resistance. It has a rugged design with rubber edging and a variety of earloops to prevent it falling off during vigorous movements. Also supplied are several different rubber casings for the earplug, to let you get the best and most comfortable fit.

Aimed at active outdoor types, the X2 can take a dunking if you tumble off you mountain bike into a river… and it’ll keep on working so you can call for help… should your phone still be working…
