Press Release

32 and 40 inch LCD TVs to offer integrated Freeview Playback digital recorders

London, 13th August 2007: Humax, one of the world's leading set-top box manufacturers, has today announced that its LP32-TDR1 and LP40-TDR1 TVs now contain Freeview Playback, to guarantee viewers the very latest in one-touch recording features. Both the Humax LP32-TDR1 and LP40-TDR1 LCD TV models, which have built-in twin tuner digital recorders, have achieved Freeview Playback status, making them the optimum all-in-one product to watch and record digital TV.

Freeview Playback is the latest way to enjoy digital TV, enabling viewers to watch and record over 40 free digital TV channels for just the cost of the set-top box. Viewers can create their own TV schedule from over 40 great Freeview channels including Film4, E4, ITV2 and BBC3.

The Freeview Playback standard guarantees viewers a fantastic range of features, including schedule tracking and auto-buffering for accurate recording and to ensure any schedule changes caused by breaking news items or over-running shows are not missed. Live pause and instant rewind give viewers additional control over what they are watching, so if the phone rings during a film or someone talks over a crucial scene, one press of the remote can freeze or rewind the action.

The Humax LP32-TDR1 and LP40-TDR1 both come with a built in 160g hard drive, so the  integrated Freeview Playback digital TV recorder can record over 80 hours of programming, ensuring viewers need never miss their favourite TV show again.

The introduction of the Humax Freeview Playback TVs follows the launch in August 2007 of the Humax PVR-9200TB with Freeview Playback Group 2 status.

Graham North, UK Commercial Director for Humax, said: "A TV with integrated digital recorder is a great way for consumers to get all the functionality for watching and recording TV, without needing a whole host of additional boxes . The Freeview Playback badge gives consumers added confidence that they are getting a product that will allow them to get the most out of Freeview."

The Humax LP32-TDR1 and LP40-TDR1 offer a range of additional features, including: picture in picture viewing; digital text and interactive services; a HDMI slot for HD equipment; Dolby Digital 5.1 sound; and a CI slot, so viewers can upgrade to even more TV channels, such as Setanta Sports, through Pay TV services.
The LP32-TDR1 with Freeview Playback is expected to retail on UK high streets at around £699.99. The LP40-TDR1 with Freeview Playback is expected to retail on UK high streets at around £999.99.
