Fitting the Switches into the Faceplate



A mock-up of the finished article was performed.  None of the switches below have been 'screwed' in, as we are checking for spots where the holes need more filing.



Already Looking very sweet indeed.







You can see an extra modification, a custom fanbus, that will sit above the keypad...it has also been noted
 that the keypad looks nicer without the little 'button covers', and will, be omitted in the final layout.

Wiring the PCB to the LCD

I decided to use a 1x10 header plug, for the LCD end and then split it into 2x4pin cables, there by not using the middle two pins.  This could of course fit either way, only resulting in the characters generated by the switches being different.

This is as easy as it gets....the length of the wires are determined (obviously) by the location of the LCD module
