be quiet! Dark Power 470W examination

Upping the power output but dropping the 'Pro' moniker brings us to the next be quiet! PSU.

DarkPower 470W

The be quiet! Dark Power 470W has the same 'EMV protector' casing as its Pro 430W brother, but the finish of the exterior is more of a chrome appearance than brushed. However, there are two 80mm fans on this model, rather than a single 120mm fan. Further, this PSU lacks modular cabling, so it's the usual PSU spaghetti treatment.

DarkPower 470W

The be quiet! Dark Power has a number of special fan connectors, part of the ECASO system it shares with the Dark Power Pro.

Here we have a close up at the style of VGA power connections the be quiet! Dark Power and Dark Power Pro utilise. The 470W Dark Power also has a 4-pin variant for AGP graphics cards or hard drives. Ripple is supposed to be reduced by these cables.

Much like the Dark Power Pro, the Dark Power comes with lovely-coloured Velcro straps and some black wire ties. In addition, there are grommets for covering up any unused power connectors.
