Conclusion

...a dependable 1080p IPS screen that covers most of the essentials with workmanlike efficiency.

Dell has updated its portfolio of workplace displays with four new additions to the P-Series range. The P2219H, P2319H, P2419H and P2719H, priced from £161 to £246, offer modern aesthetics, a versatile stand and a standard 1080p resolution in a choice of screen sizes scaling up to 27in.

Our 23.8in review sample is a good fit at 1,920x1,080, and though the panel lacks the bells and whistles that are needed to attract content creators or gamers, it offers solid build quality, a compact stand offering height, swivel and tilt adjustment, and super-thin bezels that bode well for multi-screen setups in either landscape or portrait modes.

The form factor is agreeable, and so too is Dell's IPS panel, which offers decent brightness, good out-the-box colour accuracy and ultra-wide viewing angles in all directions. A hint of backlight bleed in the corners is a potential weak point, as is the omission of integrated speakers, but the P2419H is nonetheless a dependable 1080p IPS screen that covers most of the essentials with workmanlike efficiency.

The bad section needs updating to include 16:9 aspect ratio :P

Seriously been using 16:10 for the last 7 years and cannot go back on a work monitor.

I'm the same. I really dont like working on 1920 x 1080

I do quite like ultrawide though, the 1440p ones are nice as its like having dual monitors without having dual monitors, and now there is a 1600p panel floating about, its pretty tempting.

Completely agree with you! 16:10 for work or go home. 16:9 is awful for productivity. Ultrawide 1440p+ is better, but for a standard monitor, 16:9 can go away!
Need more 16:10 gaming monitors too. Where is my 27-30in 1600p Gsync monitor? Make one for under a grand and you have me.
Isn't it about time that all the oems finally ditch 60Hz. Also 1080 needs to go as we're being charged over and over again for the same items. Where's the progression in this area?
