Now let's see if it can maintain if the P4X333 can maintain its slender lead as we turn to gaming, and more specifically 3DMark 2000, run at its native benchmark resolution of 1024x768x16

Pretty much the same trend is exhibited here. Will it change with the more memory-intensive 3DMark 2001SE ?

The faster memory subsystem afforded by running PC2700 memory over PC2100 memory shows itself with better scores in MadOnion's benchmarks.

Let's now have a look at the bandwidth-hungry Valley of the Jaguar benchmark contained within the publicly available edition of Croteam's excellent first person shooter, Serious Sam 2. Settings are 1024x768x32 Normal preferences.

Due to the complexity of the scene being rendered, one with huge open expanses that call for a huge amounts of CPU calculation, the motherboard that is most proficient at providing massive memory capacity usually wins. Faster memory equates to a greater data transfer, which in turn equates to a higher score.
