The beefed-up X800 GT 256MB from SAPPHIRE manages to overturn the GeForce 6600 GT's performance advantage over a Radeon X700 Pro card when considered without image enhancement. The '6600 GT's 128MB framebuffer isn't enough to run 3DMark05 at 1600x1200 4x AA 8x AF, but you wouldn't really consider these midrange cards if that's the resolution and settings you wish to play at; it's GeForce 7800 GTX country. By our reckoning, the optimum resolution the cards need to really perform at is 1280x1024, with and without AA/AF.
