Both the GeForce 6600 GT 128MB card and the SAPPHIRE X800 GT produce playable framerates at 1280x1024. Anything above that, really, becomes too choppy to play, with framerates dipping well below the averages shown above. Note how 256MB framebuffers keep performance going at 1600x1200 4x/8x? That said, it's still very, very slow.
