Roll out the apps that love cores and the X6 1075T benchmarks at around the same level as an Intel Core i7 870 chip, which currently retails for £230. The X4 970 BE, on the other hand, sits between a Core i5 750 (now replaced by 760) and the retired Core i7 920.

This rather boring graph shows that most games don't care how many CPU cores are in the socket. It's all about GPU power once the resolution is dialled up.
