Power play

Intel's X58 platform is notoriously power-hungry, leading to the highest idle power-draw readings by a good margin.

The two new chips' power-draw is remarkably similar under load, and this is the main reason why we're more impressed with AMD's six-core chips than the older quad-core vintage. Pick of the bunch here is the X6 1055T 95W.
