Noise and Conclusion

Noise

With the 3D Cooler Ultra running at its lowest fan speed, the noise generated seems to be slightly quieter than that of AMDs stock cooler. Once you ramp up the fan to its full speed however, the cooler does become very noisy, probably too much so for all but those most dedicated to getting the most performance out of their system. Of course, the beauty of this cooler is that the fan speed is fully adjustable, so everybody should be able to find a fan speed, and thus noise level, to their liking.

Thoughts

After spending some time with Gigabyte's 3D Cooler Ultra GT, it's hard (name aside perhaps) to fault it. The manual is good, the bundle contains everything you need, installation is easy with all of the retaining clips easily labelled, and most of all its performance under high load is most impressive. Add to that the nifty looks and addition of an LED, and you have a real winner on your hands.

The only slight blemish is the noise generated by the fan running at full pelt, but considering that this is fully adjustable finding an appropriate fan speed for the levels you are willing to tolerate is no problem. For the price, anybody looking for something to replace a stock cooling solution with a little style and good performance would do well to check this out.
