Western Digital has given the thumbs-up to its My Book Live hitting the 3TB storage ceiling, with the launch of an addition to the line-up.

Announced last October in 1TB and 2TB varieties, with Gigabit Ethernet connectivity, the My Book Live home network drive claims to derive transfer speeds of up to 100MBps - approximately triple the whammy of USB 2.0 - by taking advantage of the latest processor technology. When duelling with other network drives in its class, Western Digital suggests that the My Book Live performs twice-over to claim a distinction.

Akin to its siblings, the My Book Live 3TB features remote access, a medley of media features including the WD Photos application - allowing users to view digital photos on a myriad of devices - plus, support for Apple Time Machine for Mac and WD SmartWare for Windows backups.

Available immediately, the My Book Live 3TB ships with a 2-year warranty and retails with an MSRP of £229.99, including VAT.
