Following on from the blueprints earlier this week we can bring you even more information about a future product from OCZ. Apparently constructed in an employee’s garage, the new FireWire 800 Flash drives look pretty interesting. As the name indicates, these will potentially transfer at speeds up to 800Mbit/s compared to the 480Mbit/s we get from the popular USB 2.0 flash drives.





We will have to see what else comes from the garages of OCZ over the coming months as well as seeing if these drives do indeed make it to production.

So what's the point? It's not like you ever get 480Mbps from a USB flash drive anyway. That would be 60 MB/s - at that speed, any hard drive you're copying on to/from is gonna struggle to keep up.
