Remember the notebook assault that AMD launched last week with the introduction of its Danube and Nile platforms? Well, it's catching on.
We've already seen a bevy of supporting notebooks from Acer, and Dell's now getting in on the act with the launch of the AMD-flavoured Inspiron M301z.
The 13.3in notebook, pictured above, is the latest to see eye-to-eye with AMD's 2010 VISION and makes use of the Nile platform - consisting of a low-power AMD CPU, an AMD M880G chipset and integrated Radeon HD 4225 graphics.
In terms of CPU, Dell's Inspiron M301z can be configured with one of the following three; a single-core 1.7GHz Athlon II Neo K125, a dual-core 1.3GHz Athlon II Neo K325 or a dual-core 1.5GHz Turion II Neo K625.
According to Dell's US product page, up to 4GB of DDR3 memory can be installed, as can up to 640GB of hard-disk storage. The 13.3in display provides a 1,366x768 resolution and Microsoft's Windows 7 operating system features as standard.
Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity are both integrated, as is HDMI out, and there's a 1.3 megapixel webcam and a 7-in-1 card reader.
Despite measuring under an inch thick, Dell equips the system with a six-cell 48WHr lithium-ion battery and reckons you'll get over five hours of use from a single charge.
Dell Singapore currently has the system up for order with prices starting at $999 - which works out at around £500 - but there's no mention of when we're likely to see the notebook on Dell's UK site.
