EU and US availability

Here's how GeForce GTX 295 availability and pricing looks for Europe at present:

Euro Market

etailerProductAvailabilityPrice (inc. VAT)
Alternate.de ZOTAC GeForce GTX 295 In stock €489
EVGA GeForce GTX 295 In stock €499
  Gainward GeForce GTX 295 Pre-order €499
  XFX GeForce GTX 295 Pre-order €484
  MSI GeForce GTX 295 Pre-order €519
  ASUS GeForce GTX 295 Pre-order €519
HardwareFreak.de Club 3D HD 4870 X2 Pre-order €434.50

As with the UK, stock is available, albeit in limited quantities. With the Pound-to-Euro exchange rate almost even, there's little difference in pricing. The average cost of in-stock GeForce GTX 295s from Alternate.de is €494, equating to £443.

NVIDIA expects European pricing to fall between €450 and €480, so you may want to wait until early next week to see if prices fall a little further.

To our surprise, US availability appears to be a little thin on the ground. Popular retailer NewEgg.com has just a placeholder for GeForce GTX 295 products, and TigerDirect offers the following for pre-order:

US Market

etailerProductAvailabilityPrice (exc. localised charges )
TigerDirect.com XFX GeForce GTX 295 Pre-order $499.99
  BFG GeForce GTX 295 Pre-order $499.99
  EVGA GeForce GTX 295 Pre-order $499.99
  PNY GeForce GTX 295 Pre-order $499.99

Priced at an average of $499.99 excluding tax, US customers will be paying in the region of £327 + TAX.

In summary, GeForce GTX 295 pricing is beginning to fall in line with NVIDIA's predictions, and sub-£400 offerings should soon be readily available.
