Introduction

We've laughingly read elsewhere that ATi Technologies' “stifle innovation” by refusing to allow its AIB (Add In Board) partners to bring to market products which deviate from the ATi reference design.

We're not sure of the motivation behind such bizarre claims, but if there's another ATi based product to disprove the dissenters, surely it's the forthcoming ABIT Fatal1ty X800 XL 512MB.

ABIT seem to have 'launched' this product back in May but it seems that only now do we have sight of actual product and fuller details.

And for the delectation of loyal HEXUS readers we've also exclusively snagged an ABIT internal sales presentation covering the finer details of this interesting product.

This document makes claims regarding the benefits of the ABIT Fatal1ty X800 XL 512MB's unique copper VPU cooler, its 'vGuru XTurbo mode' which in conjunction with an external switch seems to allow dynamic changes to its BIOS Clock settings and on the fly voltage increases (!) plus statements as to the performance increases through overclocking.

Join us as we report on what's covered in the document, taking a look at exactly what the Fatal1ty X800 XL 512MB has to offer.
