Depression has set in...call the men in white coats

Next up is Keystone, which is similar to the casino dice game, craps. You roll three dice and are offered odds on various permutations, such as whether the dealer will throw a pair, a triple, an odd or even number. There are loads of permutations, but once again it’s pure luck whether you win and like all gambling games the more you play it the more likely you are to lose and become depressed in the process.

Depression truly sinks in, however, when you play a few games of Spinner. It’s a no-thrills, no-spills slot machine, but instead of fruit there are objects that you could possibly relate to the Fable world, such as a moon or a crown. You can choose to play between three and six rows and you simply need to press the 'A' button and keep your fingers crossed. Playing Spinner in the tournament mode is about as ridiculous as it gets. In the initial tournament you get 100 spins and you simply just sit there pressing the ‘A’ button 100 times in the hope that you might win more than the AI players. It’s no wonder that some Fable II Pub Game players have created their own automated spinners.

After playing Fable II Pub Games for a few hours, I just couldn’t believe how unenjoyable it was, so I hit the Internet to take a look at what other people thought, just to make sure I wasn’t missing something. Aside from discovering that I seem to think the same as the majority, I also came across some You Tube footage where I discovered that there’s a glitch in the game that allows you to win as much money as you like. The developer only created three mini-games yet they couldn’t even manage to design them so you couldn’t cheat!!

The developer is aware of the glitch and there response was:

"Using any kind of "glitch" to get large amounts of money is obviously not something which was intended to enhance gameplay and doing so will more than likely spoil a lot of the fun you would otherwise have playing the game."

They're wrong. Fable II Pub Games is about as much fun as being strapped to a chair and forced to watch one of those awful late-night quiz games, you know, the ones where you have practically zero chance of winning? Unless you cheat, or you're very very lucky you won't win here either. You'll just be 800 Microsoft points worse off and feel like you've been taken for a sucker.

Take a tip from me: Don't buy this game, you'll be bitterly disappointed. Pre-order Fable II instead and get it for free.

"Don't gamble with this pile of crud. If you must play it, pre-order Fable II and get it for nowt" (2/10)

Is it worth taking a gamble with this set of Fable II-inspired mini-games?

I agree, I've bought it simply because I can't afford the game until after its out, so therefor I wont be able to get it free. The sames are ridiculously balanced so that you lose, and have autofired my way through more spinnerbox tournaments than I can remember, never winning! (And this is a game of pure luck nothing more may I add.)

I just cant really play the game, its more to me like DLC exclusive items and gold for fable 2 that you have to work for…

Not really too chuffed.
I don't like pre-ordering games, so I bought it too thinking it would be a fun game to play whilst waiting for Fable 2. I actually felt angry playing this game and that doesn't happen very often.

Just google for the glitch on the card based one, actually makes it winnable for the tournaments ;)
It should have been free. Even then I can't see many people playing it.

I got it for 3 reasons:
1. it was cheap for me (I get 4200 point cards at less than 2100 point card price at work)
2. I had nothing better to do
3. I will have to wait a while before I get Fable 2 (employees don't get priority on games and have to wait for mainstream channels to be fully satisfied before we can get them)

So it made sense for me, that and I enjoy mindless crap
