Play as EVE

The developer has tried to freshen up the gameplay by giving you the opportunity to control another character in the game, which does makes a nice change from the control limitations that are forced onto you with WALL-E.

EVE is WALLE’s love interest and she has her own flying/racing levels, where you get the chance to scan the landscape for organic life, fly around shooting lasers at enemies and obstacles and activate switches that invariably open pathways to new areas.

Although these sections are more certainly more fun than controlling WALL-E and solving dozens of similar puzzles, they’re also plagued with poor game mechanics and the scenarios that you’ll find yourself in are all very familiar. How many more games do we have to play where we race through bloody rings? If it had have been done well, then fair enough, but there’s nothing clever about the gameplay, the flawed targeting system or even the shoddy graphics.

There’s just a severe lack of imagination from the developer when it created WALL-E, which is such a shame when it could and should have been so much better.

Disney Pixar took the widely-used earth-saving concept and created a unique film with style. Developer, Heavy Iron Studios, took Disney Pixar’s stylish project and murdered it.

A bit disappointed, couldve been an interesting puzzle game, but then wasnt expecting much - its a movie tie in…

Exactly. Games from Movie tie-ins just dont work. I said to myself when the Transformers game was released, “ah ha the games from movie tie-in industry might have changed from 10 years ago”, but no no no no it sucked so hard that it was an utterly pointless release. The Transformers game based losely on the cartoon for the PS2 was a lot better.

I will be interested in what Ghostbusters 3 has to offer but wont buy til i've properly tried it at someone elses expense ;).

Oh God…

I feel sorry for parents that will be mithered into purchasing this for their little ones. The graphics look below par for a 360/PS3 game and they look like are slightly washed out and sub-standard compared to what the consoles are capable of. Yes, the “earth” in Wall-E is full of dirt and stuff, but there is more than 1 shade of brown you know :)
we all know what THQ and movie-licenses mean:
