A great effort from EA

One thing EA have always been great at in the SSX games is the presentation and the Wii version is no different with easy to use well-laid out menus, but graphically, SSX Blur looks like a PS2 game. But, the cartoon styled characters won’t put you off what is an extremely decent snowboarding game on the new console.

SSX Blur is a well designed and entertaining game if you’re willing to invest some time into it. The control system isn’t for the faint-hearted, but once mastered you’ll be whizzing down the slopes with finesse and pulling off some great looking tricks. The interactivity thanks to the Wii controllers takes snowboarding games to another level, and as a result, you do feel far more involved in the sport than if you were just sitting back with a standard controller in your hands.

Overall, it's a great effort from EA, but we'd still expect some fine tuning to the controls and more new features in future iterations of the series.

Pros
Innovative control system - great fun if you have the patience
Ubertricks and the groove metre

Cons
Nothing new worth mentioning added to the series
Frustrating if you don't have the patience

A fine conversion to the Wii controllers, just be prepared to be patient.
