Pimp your monster and bring it online

Although Monster Lab does boast a number of mini-games that are integral to the gameplay, most are neither challenging nor particularly interesting. One prime example is when you are greeted with a repair screen at the end of each battle and then need to rotate your stylus as quickly as possible in order to repair your broken parts. It doesn't add anything to the gameplay, apart from some respite from the action.

Nevertheless, Monster Lab gets the majority of it right, with a supremely balanced and deep combat system with fast-paced and visually entertaining battles and a monster creation process that is deeply satisfying. Throw in the fact that you can connect to Wi-Fi and battle with your custom-made creatures online, and you’ve got addictive and entertaining monster-bashing adventure.

Pros
Deep, challenging, entertaining combat
Monster creation process is fun
Stylish graphics and cut-scenes
Loads of great action moves

Cons
Mini-games get repetitive

Deep, challenging and entertaining, Monster Lab is a must-buy for fans of turn-based combat.
