There's no doubt that Killzone: PS3 is looking fantastic, but can it really challenge Halo 3 in the battle of the shooters in 2007? 1Up.com are suggesting that the two shooters will be going head to head this Spring, when Sony release a full demo of Killzone, whilst Halo 3 begins its beta phase on Xbox 360.

Halo 3 already has a distinct advantage, because the franchise has an impeccable track record. The Halo games have become well known for the high quality of their graphics, gameplay and physics, whereas Killzone, despite the pre-release hype in which it was dubbed the 'Halo Killer', failed to impress with its frame rate problems, jumpy controls, and numerous glitches. Of course, the developers now have the power of a next-gen console in order to get it right and once again Sony fans are hoping that it will prove to be as great as Bungie's first person shooter.

In what's shaping up to be one of the greatest years in videogame history, with the release of titles such as Supreme Commander, Assassin's Creed, Crysis, Alan Wake and Spore, PS3 and Xbox 360 fans will be keeping a close eye on the battle of the first-person shooters.

I completed Killzone a few times. It was average at best but maybe the follow up will be better. It would be nice if the graphics turn out anything like the e3 demo :p
Killzone was a great game in my opinion, but i know out of the that or Halo, Halo would win every time. I'd like to see this be a Halo beater though.
(looks at killzone screenshot then halo 3) i hope killzone doesn't play well.
Halo would win every time, Killzone was fine but lacks the depth of the Halo franchise. Its possible that this could all change, with the amount of effort going into Halo 3 its unlikely to be anything else but a killer game.

Killzone on the other hand will have to prove itself on new hardware which itself is a challenge. 360 development tools have been refined and improved for a few years now, PS3 teams are still very much venturing into the unknown.
I agree Halo will win hands down:bowdown:
