Postal 3

Postal 3: Catharsis, the third installment in the controversial shooter series is currently in development for PC and Xbox 360.

The controversial game follows Postal 2 which was recently made available for download. Postal 2 was a traditional 3D shooter and was based on the true story of an American postal worker who went crazy and slaughtered his collegues.

When CNN commented on the game they said '" Parents, politicians and religious leaders who say Rockstar Games'best-selling "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" video game crosses lines of decency and good taste with excessive violence, sex and drugs will be just as unhappy, if not more so, with "Postal 2. It makes 'Vice City' look like a Disney cartoon"

We can't think of a better advertisement!

The Postal series has included decapitation with shovels, arcade games that include slurs against gays and lesbians, Middle Eastern men are shown perusing bomb-making and terrorism books at the library (before opening fire with a machine gun), and the lead character can unzip his pants and mark his territory on just about anything. In game tasks include being treated for a sexually transmitted disease.

The information on Postal 3 was revealed in RWS's newsletter yesterday, although in depth details have not been revealed.

The film based on these events is due to be released in 2007 so the game may coiincide with the movie.

If you feel brave enough to take a look at what all the fuss is about, then head over to the Postal Website

We'll keep you posted on any developments!

I purchased Postal 2 Share the Pain yesterday just for something to play with being off work for a Ruptured Ligament in my lower back, I had played it through and traded it in but after reading this it made me want to play through it again ! Got it for £4 at the local store that does trade ins, up to Wednesday already where you wake up in the box in the Gimp suit, game is so funny. I can see and understand the controversy with religion and general mayhem with many stereotypes but its just a game thats a darned good laugh to play, not to be taken seriously at all.

All I can say is Postal 3 : bring it on !!!
nice one! I'll definately be looking a getting Postal 3
As a game, I don't much like Postal :P I find the violence being a point instead of a byproduct to be a bit repititive. However, as a principle, I love it :) The issues and methods it contains are ground-breaking, raising the bar for violence and other such un-PC topics for every title. The more Postal keep raising the bar, and keeping the “flak” from the religious and other do-gooder types on themselves; the more creative freedom other games have to experiment without worrying that they're going to have marches outside their HQ and burnings of their products in the street. ( Here's looking at the next GTA, which should be pretty sweet on the PS3.)
In short, go Postal :D

Postal 2 was a bit repetative, but sure was a mighy fine game :)
