Ubisoft promise better quality games

It's not very often you see anyone in the gaming industry admitting they were wrong in making poor decisions, but according to German magazine, Spiegel, that's exactly what Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot and European boss, Alain Corre have done.

When questioned on their initial line-up of games for Wii, the pair said that the company was far too quick in bringing their initial batch of games to Wii and therefore some of the titles lacked the quality they'd hoped for. "We made mistakes," the pair said (or 'Wir haben Fehler gemacht', for those German speakers amongst us). According to translations, they also promised that the same mistake wouldn't be made twice and that future titles will see an improvement in overall quality.

Out of the seven Ubisoft launch titles for Wii, only one game, Red Steel, received significantly high review scores, whereas the likes of Blazing Angels, Open Season, Monster 4x4: World Circuit, and GT Pro Series received widespread criticism (possibly because they were poor ports of the originals).

Now that Ubisoft has admitted to this error of judgment I don't suppose there's any chance of a refund?

ITs good that companies are still supporting the wii so fully.
Good on them, nice to see mistakes being acknowledged.
