Amazon celebrate great end to the year.

Amazon are celebrating record sales after confirming that they sold one Wii console every 17 seconds in 2007. However, the company hasn't confirmed what this equates to in terms of actual sales figures and they did say that the statistic only refers to the times when they actually had Wii in stock (which wasn't very often).

Of course, Amazon's successful year isn't just down to our love of Wii. They've also done well in other areas of the business, selling 'enough high-def DVD players to cover seven football fields' and shifting thousands of Garmin GPS and Samsung LCD HDTVs.

The top sellers in terms of video games included "Super Mario Galaxy" and "Call of Duty 4."

Amazon's busiest day of the year was December 10. On that day, Amazon customers ordered more than 5.4 million items, which is 62.5 items per second. In addition, the company wrapped up its second year of Amazon Customers Vote, with more than 4.6 million votes cast during the promotion.
