Wot no Wii?

A report conducted by Hitwise,an online competitive intelligence service that snoops on British shoppers internet browsing habits and then sells that data on for commercial purposes, believes that the number one search term so far this Christmas is for Nintendo's much sought after console, Wii.

The data collected was from the period leading up until the end of November and they conclude that, 'there were thirteen as many UK Internet searches for ‘nintendo wii’ sending traffic to the Hitwise Shopping and Classifieds category as there were for ‘apple ipod’, and over twice as many searches for ‘wii’ as for both ‘ipod’ and ‘iphone’.

Their press release states that: Despite shortages of the popular console in the UK, the volume of searches for ‘nintendo wii’ has increased 158% since November 2006, while searches for ‘wii’ have increased by 278%.

According to their stats, http://wii-consoles.co.uk, was the '58th most visited Shopping and Classifieds website in the UK in November, having increased its market share by 265% during the month.'

ugg boots must die

they are the spawn of satan, sent to make women look putrid
Are they even that good?

I know two Wii owners - one is selling his on eBay as he never plays it, says it boring. The other person just has it for the sake of having it, dont think he even has any games besides Wii Sports.

I only play Super Mario Galaxy and occasionally Wario Ware Touched.

And yet demand far outstrips supply… If more people were willing to sell theirs there wouldn't be such a shortage.
demand from whom?

most of the demand is for people who struggle with “widescreen” versus “4:3”, let alone people who want epic HD gaming experiences. but that's an enormous market

wii sports is a game the extended family can have fun at at the xmas gathering. gears of war is not. that's where the demand comes from - even non-gaming adults are going “i got to get me some of that!”
