It's been a while since there's been anything to really get excited about in the video game release schedule, but things are starting to pick up as the summer approaches and this week sees the release of two AAA titles.

Rock Band on Xbox 360 has finally hit the UK today, whilst the PS3 exclusive HAZE is flying the flag for Sony's console.

THQ has cleverly decided to release its own muscial rhythm game, Battle of the Bands for Wii on the same day as Rock Band, which may appeal to those with a lower budget or of course those who don't have an Xbox 360.

If you're looking for some PC action and you don't already own the previous Trackmania title, you can pick up TrackMania United Forever or if you fancy something a bit more hardcore, there's a new flight sim out this week called Early Years of Flight.

Any horse lovers out there may also be excited that Let's Ride: Silver Buckle Stables is out on PS2 today.

Next week sees the release of Enemy Territory Quake Wars on Xbox and PS3 and Race Driver: GRID on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
