SIREN: Blood Curse is currently in development at Sony's Japanese studio.

Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. has today confirmed that a new survival horror game, currently in development at its Japan-based studio, will be released exclusively on PS3.

SIREN: Blood Curse, which is said to be a haunting and horrifying story bolstered by cinematic cut-scenes, will be released in twelve downloadable episodes.

Unique to the game will be the “sight jack” system that allows the player to see from the point of view of the Shibito, or living dead, to avoid their detection or anxiously watch as they close in.

The story is set in the Japanese village of Hanuda, where an American TV crew has arrived to research and film an exposé on the legend of a “vanished village.” They'll be seven different playable characters and the aim of the game will be to discover the mystery behind the curse that grips the eerie village of Hanuda.

They'll also be a range of fatal finishing moves and over 50 kinds of weapons on offer.

More details as we have them.
