Space Invaders Extreme 2 follows in the footsteps of last year’s critically acclaimed Space Invaders Extreme, which was regarded by many, including us, as the best ever remake of the original classic.

This year the iconic Invaders are back again and this time the action is even more extreme! The game combines the essence of the original game and combines it with futuristic graphic design, cutting-edge audio, overhauled gameplay and a whole new range of power-ups.

So what's new?

The differences between Space Invaders Extreme and the previous release are:

- New Additional Stages
- Higher Stage Volume
- Enhanced Games System
- Enhanced Battle Play
- New Beginners Course – Score Attack only course with infinite player stock
- New Time Attack Mode – complete the stage the fastest
- Bingo System – Light up the squares as you clear rounds

Additional features include:
- Futuristic, techno-inspired graphic design takes Space Invaders to new heights of presentation
- Interactive, totally immersive sound scheme where sound effects are synchronised to match the beats of the music
- Wide range of amazing new power-ups
- Background movies
- Ranking registration
- Play a friend with Nintendo DS Wireless Play and DS Download Play and Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection

Space Invaders Extreme 2 is due for launch on October 2nd on Nintendo DS.

The first space invaders extreme was excellent.
This one should be great.
Hopefully there'll be an XBLA release for this one as well. I'm sure it's great on the DS but it's also fantastic on a widescreen telly with surround sound :p
The first one was ok, I played it on both DS and PSP. The thing I didn't like was there was too much going on in the background, so it made it difficult to see the bullets flying around and so on.
