Compro

New from multimedia firm Compro Technology is an ultra-small USB DVB-T TV tuner. The VideoMate U3 DVB-T Stick demonstrates a trend in recent TV tuning products, which are geared towards users with mobile needs. The main VideoMate unit is the size of your average USB flash drive, making it an ideal laptop TV tuner solution, while also being feasible for a desktop PC.

USB 2.0 allows enough bandwidth for a decent image to be captured. The VideoMate will infact support 1080i HDTV, or failing that good old standard definition. The device also supports an electronic programme guide and teletext through the provided ComproDTV2 software, which allows tuning, scheduling and recording of shows. If you schedule a programme during a time when the computer is in standby or hibernated, then it can revive the PC to record the show - quite handy for the laptop user.
