London, UK – 12th Oct 2010 - PlantronicsÒ (NYSE:PLT) today expanded its family of Bluetooth® products with the new Plantronics Voyager® PRO+ Bluetooth® headset, the next version of the award-winning Voyager PRO and a favourite among enthusiasts. This is part of a range of smart headsets that are geared for the growing smartphone user base and is encased in environmentally sound packaging featuring a new brand identity.

Performance with a Plus
With flexible, mobile and dispersed working practices now becoming the norm, workers need technology that is reliable and supports their lifestyle. The Voyager PRO+ is designed for the growing smartphone generation with new features including A2DP technology for streaming music, podcasts and GPS navigation; convenient enhanced voice alerts for remaining talk time, volume, phone connection, low battery warnings, mute status and out-of-range and also an iPhone headset meter that allows users to monitor battery levels.

Engineered for the Mobile Professional
The Plantronics Voyager PRO+ was designed for the mobile professional user who demands superior noise cancellation in noisy environments. It includes easily accessible power, volume and mute buttons, can seamlessly connect to two different mobile phones with multipoint technology, and it folds up easily for storage. The lithium polymer battery provides up to six hours of continuous talk time and five days of stand-by time, exceeding the talk and standby times of most mobile phones.

Engineered for Sound Quality
The Plantronics Voyager PRO+ delivers this with AudioIQ2, Plantronics’ digital signal processing (DSP) technology, and a unique adjustable dual-microphone boom. While other headsets deliver noise cancellation at the expense of overall audio quality, the boom provides the advantage of capturing your voice close to your mouth so the AudioIQ2 technology can more effectively remove ambient noise, while still maintaining the natural sound of your voice.

The headset also effectively minimizes wind noise – a major cause of disruption during calls. Plantronics Voyager PRO+ features three layers of WindSmart® technology. Dual external stainless steel microphone screens and acoustic fabrics that surround the microphones together provide substantial physical barriers to wind noise. At the same time, the AudioIQ2 DSP algorithms intelligently decipher your voice from the wind to deliver clear sound to your listener.

Finally, the Voyager PRO+ delivers unmatched inbound audio quality to ensure every word is heard on both sides of a conversation. It features a custom speaker that delivers full-spectrum audio so conversations are richer and more vibrant. The adaptive 20-band equalizer delivers distortion-free audio and works with AudioIQ2 to automatically adjust sound levels based on the noise level around you to ensure maximum audibility.

“Today’s smartphone generation want a headset that complements a smarter lifestyle and audio quality they can rely on” said Stuart Bradshaw, EMEA Consumer Marketing Manager. “The Voyager PRO+ defines a new vision from hands-free convenience and is made to complement life on the go. With the combination of the Plantronics signature audio performance, and optimum comfort and usability, it makes it the ideal companion to the latest generation of smartphones and devices.”

The Plantronics Voyager PRO+ is available for £79.99 RRP and will be available from November at Apple, Orange and Maplin.
