YouView strengthens operations and technology teams

YouView today announced new appointments in technology and operations to further strengthen delivery teams ahead of its consumer launch.

In operations Andrew Burdess, formerly BT Vision Operations Director and Head of Service Operations at NTL, has joined as Director of Operations. He will take responsibility for developing all consumer facing aspects of the platform and ensuring technical resilience of back end services.

The technology team has already successfully defined the technical environment, built the user interface, established a framework for content providers and developed the core technical specifications for developing YouView set top boxes.

As the programme moves into its next phase, Anthony Rose, the current CTO, is stepping down from this role and YouView have appointed Youssef (Sef) Tuma as Head of Technical Delivery. Sef brings a wealth of experience of delivering similar programmes globally. Anthony Rose will continue to inform product development in an advisory capacity.

Greg McCall remains Launch Director and Jeff Hunter continues in his role as Chief Architect.
